The Consortium runs a Ph. D. program across all its Centre. So far more than 100 students have completed their Ph.D. and most of them are well-placed. Have a look at our passed out and present students.
Students are admitted to a doctoral research program leading to Ph.D. degree in Physics and some inter-disciplinary areas. On completion of their Ph.D. degree, a number of our students could get placements in reputed national institutions and universities as well as abroad.
Qualification: M.Sc. degree in Physics with a minimum of 55% overall marks and must have qualified (i) Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST) and/or (ii) CSIR-UGC NET and/or(iii) DST-Inspire Fellowship (Ph.D.)
Selection process: The selection of the students for the Ph.D. programme is a two-step process: Screening of the applications, followed by an interview of the short-listed candidates by the Selection Committees. Applicant must indicate the preference of CSR Centres option in the application form. After the selection process, students will be distributed to different Centers of the Consortium, depending on the option of the students and vacancies. The selected students would be registered for Ph.D. with Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV), Indore (for Indore Centre), Calcutta University, Kolkata (for Kolkata Centre), University of Madras, Chennai (for Kalpakkam node)and Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU)*(for Mumbai Centre).
*JEST qualified students opting for Mumbai Centre will have to additionally appear at an entrance test conducted by SPPU and if qualified, appear at a separate interview conducted through SPPU. UGC-NET/GATE/DST-Inspire (PhD) qualified candidates opting for Mumbai Centre will have to additionally apply for PhD at SPPU and appear at a separate interview conducted through SPPU
